KOTA KINABALU: The Federation of Chinese Associations Sabah (FCAS) will be conducting election for its 13th Central Committee cum Supervisory Committee as scheduled, on this Sunday 7 November, at the Hakka Hall here
Registration of delegates will start at 9am and the actual events at 10am.
In a statement issued today, its Secretary-general Datuk Yong Soo Pin urged the delegates to arrive on time.
He also announced that the FCAS 13th Central Committee will be led by its incumbent President, Tan Sri T.C Goh and his deputy Datuk Susan Wong, both who have won uncontested and automatically re-elected.
He disclosed that following the withdrawal of several nominees from the elections, due to various reasons, thus currently remained 20 candidates to contest for 16 positions in the Central Committee; all the other positions including the seven positions in the Supervisory Committee have been won uncontested.
“All the delegates are also required to produce their e-certificate to prove that they have been fully vaccinated. Besides this, they must also bring along the original copy of their identity card and to strictly comply with the Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP), i.e. wearing surgical mask, taking their body temperature, and to maintain social distance, among others,” he reminded.
Besides this, he also urged the delegates to strictly comply with the election procedures, and rules and regulations that have been set by the Central Committee and the Supervisory Committee, so as to ensure that the election is smoothly and democratically conducted.-pr/BNN
