KOTA KINABALU: Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (BIMB) paid its zakat to University College Sabah Foundation (UCSF), recently, to be allocated for Asnaf.
During the UCSF’s Open Day on Monday at its campus in Sembulan, an event was organised for the presentation of a mock cheque from BIMB to UCSF with over 100 people in attendance, including audience.
Apart from students and lecturers, those present during the event included Vice Chancellor, Dr Rafiq Idris, Datuk Clarence Bongkos Malakun, Asman Dulamid, the Manager for Education Development Division, Johari Baharum and Japri Mat Salleh of Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad.
During the event, Mr Johari said Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad will try to augment its zakat
contribution to reach more Asnaf.
On another note, the Vice Chancellor in its speech thanked BIMB for selecting UCSF as one of the organisation to receive zakat for the Asnaf.-pr/BNN
