KOTA KINABALU: The Federation of Chinese Associations Sabah (FCAS) Building acquisition plan, initiated by Tan Sri T.C Goh, has taken another significant step forward with the issuance of the “Loan Approval Notification” by RHB Bank.
Goh, who is also the President of FCAS led its leadership team and the building management committee members to receive the “Letter of Offer” from the bank at its Kota Kinabalu branch yesterday. They also signed the loan agreement and opened the necessary accounts to facilitate smooth fund flow and to accelerate preparation work for the FCAS Building project.
Goh expressed gratitude to RHB Bank for its trust and support towards FCAS and praised the bank for its smooth and efficient process, which he said reflected the bank’s excellent service standards.
Also present at the Loan Agreement signing ceremony were FCAS Deputy President, Datuk Susan Wong Siew Guen, Secretary General Datuk Yong Soo Pin, Treasurer-general Chen Ee Sheng, RHB Bank Regional Director, Stephen Chin Chee Kai, Regional Sales Head, Soon Yee Ling, Gaya Street Branch Manager Chua Fui Ching, and Customer Relations Manager Robert bin Ambrose.
According to the Loan Agreement, RHB Bank will provide 75% financing of the building’s purchase price, amounting to RM 2,985,000, with a repayment period of 15 years.
Goh, who is also the President of the Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia (Huazong), said that this collaboration with RHB Bank marks a new milestone in FCAS’s journey towards raising funds for the building acquisition. He reiterated the FCAS commitment to advancing the common vision of the Chinese community and promoting the prosperity and progress of both the community and Sabah.
He also disclosed that FCAS has signed an agreement to purchase a four-story shophouse in the vicinity of Kampung Air, this month.
Meanwhile, Datuk Susan Wong said that the successful signing of this loan agreement has injected significant momentum into the future development of the FCAS, marking an important milestone in the organization’s history. It reflects the unity and forward-thinking spirit of the Sabah Chinese community.
She further added that the FCAS will continue to work tirelessly for the betterment of the community’s future, working together to create a brighter tomorrow.
Datuk Yong Soo Pin highlighted that, including necessary renovations and equipment, the estimated total cost of the FCAS Building project could reach RM5 million. He emphasized the need for support from the entire Chinese community and associated organizations to complete the project.
Chen Ee Sheng noted that fundraising activities for the building are currently underway and urged leaders, entrepreneurs, and business groups both within and outside Sabah to support the Assembly Hall’s efforts in achieving the goal of “having a home of its own”, as soon as possible.
