KOTA KINABALU:  Seri Mengasih Centre is honored with the official
launching of its newly renovated Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Training Centre by Her Royal Highness Yang Amat Mulia Paduka Puteri Tunku Mariamz bte Al-Marhum Al-Mutawakkil Alallah Sultan Iskandar Al-Haj. The momentous event took place at the Seri Mengasih Centre, Tanjung Aru, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

The ASD Training Centre building represents a significant milestone in Seri Mengasih Centre’s unwavering commitment to providing comprehensive and specialised support for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This newly refurbished facility is designed to enhance the quality of life for those on the spectrum by offering expanded training programs, therapeutic interventions, and vocational skills development in a purpose-built and nurturing environment.

Her Royal Highness YAM Paduka Puteri Tunku Mariamz’s presence at the launch underscores the profound importance of this initiative and the royal family’s dedication to championing causes that foster inclusivity and support for vulnerable communities. Her Royal Highness’s patronage will undoubtedly bring greater awareness and support to the vital work being done for individuals with ASD in Sabah and beyond.

“This new facility is a testament to the collective efforts of our dedicated team, generous donors, and the unwavering support of the community. It will enable us to reach out to more individuals with ASD, providing them with the tools and opportunities they need to thrive and achieve their fullest potential.”

The new building features dedicated classrooms, therapy rooms, sensory integration spaces, and vocational training areas, all meticulously designed to cater to the unique learning styles and needs of individuals with ASD. It will facilitate an expansion of Seri Mengasih Centre’s existing programs, including early intervention, educational support, social skills training, and independent living skills.

Forty four (44) years old Seri Mengasih Centre practises ’Kololo Method’ training in collaboration with Kololo Japan since 2002. Seri Mengasih Centre is the only Centre authorised by Kololo Japan to practice this method in Malaysia. According to Madam Tulip Noorazyze, the Chairman of Committee of Management and Member of the Board of Trustees, the Centre has been successful in training students as young as 3 years old and has produced numerous success stories.-pr/BNN
