KOTA KINABALU: SWEPA President Betty Epin has praised participants of the 2026 Urban Community Economic Empowerment Programme (PEKB), describing them as agents of change with the potential to build more secure and successful futures for themselves and their families.
Speaking at the PEKB 2026 dinner, Epin said the programme was more than a training initiative, calling it “a pathway to transformation”.
She commended participants for their commitment, perseverance and dedication to learning throughout the programme. She encouraged them to make use of the skills, experience and connections they had gained as they continued their economic and entrepreneurial journeys.
“Although the path of entrepreneurship and economic advancement is full of challenges, with resilience and the knowledge you have gained, nothing is beyond reach,” she said.
Epin also thanked the organising committee, trainers, strategic partners and others who had worked behind the scenes to ensure the programme ran smoothly.
The dinner provided an opportunity for participants and organisers to celebrate the programme, strengthen relationships and exchange ideas.-pr/BNN
