Lahad Datu: Family relationship will not be an obstacle for Parti Warisan Sabah President, Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal (pic), winning in Silam parliamentary constituency in the coming 14th General Election.

Shafie said he does not have any problems though his brother, Datuk Mohd Yusof Apdal, is the Silam Umno Division head and Assemblyman for Lahad Datu.

“This is politics, I still love my brother. He (Yusof) is my brother and my family members, even we have different paths.

“However, when the election comes, I will vote for the victory of party (Parti Warisan Sabah) and not my brother,” said Shafie, when met after receiving 2,250 membership applications at Dovist Restaurant on Saturday.

During the ceremony, 766 members from Umno, 405 from Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), 207 from Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) and 75 from Star joined Parti Warisan Sabah. A total of 797 individuals also pledged to be members of Parti Warisan Sabah.

“This is a good thing and could further strengthen support for Parti Warisan in facing the coming General election.

This also proved that support towards Parti Warisan Sabah is not only from the Malays but also the Chinese community.”

Shafie hoped the support given by the people will remain during the general election “so that we could change the government for the good of the people”.

“The current situation in the state is worsening as well as the economy. People should be brave to change the government. If this situation continued, it will affect the lives of people, especially in Sabah.

“That is why we set up Parti Warisan, a party for Sabahans so we could preserve our rights, our heritage and our future generation will inherit the good life.”

According to Shafie, Parti Warisan Sabah is for all Sabahans, regardless of race and religion.

He said without cooperation from all, it would be impossible to form a government.

He said Warisan Sabah members should put aside any issue as their main agenda is to change the Government.

“We have to win the election with strong majority in order to become strong government. We must be strong government so that our voice (demand) will be heard by the federal leadership,” he added. SOURCE BY – DE.
