KOTA KINABALU: The Nexus Resort & Spa Karambunai presented the proceeds from their Nexus Beach Run to three beneficiaries recently.
The recipient San Damiano Girls Hostel, Kiulu, Rumah Anak Yatim Assakinah, Papar and Rumah Warga Tua Sri Prichard, Papar.
The establishment hosted its first charity beach run event Nexus Beach Run in April this year where 414 runners registered and participated in the 6km and 12km fun run.
The successful inaugural fundraising event was made possible by generous sponsors, runners and volunteers who helped raised a total of RM35,015.20 for the three beneficiaries.
“Caring for our local community and being passionate about giving back to those less privileged will help to bring together people from all walks of life,” said Mr Muhammad Irwan Goh, General Manager of Nexus Resort & Spa Karambunai.
“This will be an annual charity event for the resort, the management and team are looking forward to next year’s run,” he said.
Nexus Resort & Spa Karambunai is committed to assisting children from local communities; proceeds from fundraising activities by the resort are donated to local charities.-CE/BNN
