KINABATANGAN: Angkatan Bersatu Anak Muda (Armada) Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (BERSATU) is gaining ground in the heart of the country’s youths, said Kinabatangan Armada head Johainizamshah Haji Johari.
He said this is based on the reception and participation by youth in the State in BERSATU Armada in divisional areas all over the state.
“For example in Kinabatangan Division, youth are positively receptive to Armada and this is very encouraging. There are applications by youth to join Armada every day.”
“BERSATU Armada is inclusive and accord a wide platform for youth to lead,” he said in a statement today.
Johainizamshah who is also the chairman of Youth Bureau and Sports for Armada BERSATU Sabah said, Armada is giving a chance to youth to be with leaders to move forward.
He said the participation of youth in Armada is very important in line with the decision by the government to set 18 years for youth to be eligible to vote in the coming general election.
He said youth will decide the country’s future and they needed to be provided a medium in preparation for leading the country, from the present to the future.
“We have to carry out our duties continuously as it is very important to boost rapport with the young generation to face the GE in future, as they will influence the future flow of the nation,” he stressed.
Meanwhile, in his speech during the Sports Carnival in conjunction with the Merdeka Celebration 2019 held at the Village square at Kampung Paris 1 near here, Johainizamshah said the programme was carried out as it was an attraction to youth.
“Sports are an important platform for youth in politics, especially with BERSATU.”
“Most importantly it enhances rapport among the community,” he stressed.
The carnival was officiated by Aksyah Nasrah P.187 Kinabatangan BERSATU division chief. Also present during the event were Sri Kandi Divisional Chief Kinabatangan, Norhayati Titing, Neighbourhood Watch (KRT) Chairman for Kampung Paris 1, Abd Halim Ardin and MPKK Kg Paris 1 Ardin Suradi.
Among the activities held during the sports carnival were a Futsal match, volley ball for men and women, drawing competition for children, Beyblade as well as karaoke competition for both children and adults.-pr/BNN
