KOTA KINABALU: Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) has applauded the decision made by Sabah Umno Chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin to continue the party’s support for the GRS government.
STAR President Datuk Seri Panglima Dr. Jeffrey G Kitingan said Bung’s decision cemented the Sabah Umno’s autonomy status and showed that Sabah Umno is a party that prioritises the people of Sabah.
“The GRS government is the democratically elected government of the day in Sabah. We were given the mandate by the people who ousted a backdoor government last year.
“The opposition has tried numerous times to destabilise this government but has been frustrated since the parties that make up GRS are those who understand that true power belongs in the hands of the people.
“As such, we will continue to work hard for the people, fulfil our promises made during the election campaign and move Sabah forward,” he said.
Kitingan added that as a party, STAR would continue to support the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Mohd Noor and urged its members to remain calm and carry on with their duties as usual.-pr/BNN
