KOTA KINABALU: A Pet Kingdom Expo is currently being held at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) where a wide array of pets, food, and pet paraphernalia are being promoted to pet lovers.

The expo, which kicked off yesterday, was launched by the Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Jeffery Kitingan who is also the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries of Sabah.
In his launching speech, he said the expo is a significant milestone in the pet industry and offers a valuable platform for a networking exchange and promoting responsible pet ownership.
According to him, the pet industry is a significant economic contributor that supports local businesses and stimulating the economy.
“The expo showcases pets, highlights the services and products that form a growing sector,” he said.
According to him, Sabah can be leading hub for pet food production in the region and if this can be achieved it can enhance market leadership and ensures that Sabahans have access to economical and nutritious options for their pets.
Since pet-related businesses are booming in Sabah, this can be explored as a business with partnerships and strategies to achieve this goal, he said.
