KOTA KINABALU: The new British High Commissioner to Malaysia, Ailsa Terry paid a courtesy call to Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor at Menara
Kinabalu, near here today.
Terry who took over from Charles Hay in August last year was formerly the Director of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) inaugural Sanctions Directorate from 2022 to 2023.
Among the issues discussed were reinforcing ties, increasing trade and investments from British companies in Sabah, bringing British universities to open branches in Sabah (twinning degree program with local University College Sabah Foundation), security and tourism.
Terry is also fluent in the Malay language. She was accompanied by British High Commission Second Secretary (Political) Robert Pepper and British Honorary Consul in Sabah, David Powell. -pr/BNN
