KUALA LUMPUR: The Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia (Huazong) expressed full support to the call made by His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim during his installation ceremony, for the government to continue its efforts to alleviate the people’s burdens and promote national prosperity and development.
Its President Tan Sri T.C Goh hopes that with the united efforts of the King, government, and people, we can collectively strive towards a “Prosperous Malaysia”.
He acknowledged that His Majesty’s address expressing hope for Malaysia’s continuous progress and prosperity, national unity, peace, and happiness, aligned well with the vision, aspiration and civic responsibility of every Malaysian.
In a congratulatory message issued in conjunction with the installation ceremony of the 17th King, Goh expressed sincere loyalty and congratulations of Huazong and state Chinese Assembly Halls to His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim and Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah.
Goh who is also President of the Federation of Chinese Associations Sabah (FCAS) emphatically wished for Malaysia to continue to be a truly independent, moderate, diverse, and prosperous country under the wise and benevolent leadership of His Majesty.
“Just as His Majesty promised to carry out his duties honestly, sincerely, and fairly, and to care for all citizens to safeguard the nation’s welfare and sovereignty!” he said.
Goh also expressed agreement and full support for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s speech during the King’s installation ceremony, emphasizing that “the institution of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong is a pillar of strength for the nation and its multi-ethnic people under the principles of constitutional monarchy and parliamentary democracy.”
“As the Prime Minister stated, the institution of the King is the nation’s and people’s glory as it unites Malaysians of all races and being revered as a symbol of benevolence,” he said.
Goh emphasized that the constitutional monarchy system and spirit, which was cherished since the country’s founding, must continue to be upheld and preserved by all generations.
He further stressed that under the auspices of the sovereign monarchy, and in addition to people’s unity, the country needs stable, democratic politics, and good and enlightened governance.
“Through harmonious governance, national stability and prosperity can be achieved, enabling all citizens to live in peace and harmony, and to take pride in being Malaysians,” he concluded.-pr/BNN
