KOTA KINABALU: The Basel Christian Church of Malaysia, Donggongon successfully collected 99 pints of blood during its blood donation campaign held in support of the Kudat District Hospital Blood Bank at ITCC Shopping Mall, Penampang, on Saturday.
A total of 128 individuals registered to donate blood, although only 99 met the required health standards to proceed with the donation.
As a token of appreciation, each successful donor received a 5kg bag of rice along with a goodies bag containing dried food products, packet drinks and snacks.
Among those assisting during the campaign were Kudat Hospital Medical Assistant Firdaus Mapaas, Public Relations Officer Syarqawi Rambli, and Staff Nurses Rosnih Rahim and Fazariah Ruhili.
Organising Chairman Kenny Yong Kui Kiong expressed his gratitude to all parties who contributed towards the success of the campaign.
“I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to all sponsors, church members, members of the public, and the Kudat Hospital team for making today’s campaign a success,” he said.
He also noted that the venue was sponsored by the ITCC Management.
Also present at the event were Chairman of the Basel Christian Church of Malaysia, Donggongon, Lee Yun Siong; Pastor-in-Charge Datuk Dr Rev Voo Thien Fui; the church’s Welfare Minister Kendy Shim; and ITCC Executive Assistant Donald Stephen Malinggang II, who represented the shopping mall management.
