SANDAKAN: Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for Elopura state seat Chan Boon Thian aims to bring better changes to the area, something which the incumbent failed.

Chan, 40, who holds a Diploma in Civil Engineering, is married with two children. He is the MCA Sandakan Division deputy secretary and a Sabah MCA committee member.

He has been an active figure in non-governmental organisations and charity works over the years.

Chan is the chairman of the Sandakan Health Clinic Advisory Panel which collaborated with the Health Department in efforts to improve health services to the local community.

He is offering himself to serve Elopura folks because he wants to improve the socio-economic of the people in the constituency, through close state and federal ties.

“If I am given the mandate by Elopura voters on Sep 26 I believe I can effect positive changes to the constituency,” Chan said.

Chan is locked in a six-way battle for the Elopura state seat with incumbent Chong Ket Kiun (Warisan-DAP), Voo Min Gin (Parti Cinta Sabah), Chong Thien Ming (LDP), Siti Khairiah Sheikh Mohammad (USNO) and Mohamad Saini Ahmad Tang (Parti Perpaduan Rakyat Sabah). -pr/BNN
