TUARAN: Wife of the Chief Minister, Datin Seri Juliah Salag were among donors at the Tuaran District Malaysian Red Crescent Society’s (MRCS) blood donation drive here this morning.

Juliah was happy to see the good response and hoped more such programs can be carried out in the district to replenish much needed supply for the Tuaran district hospital blood bank.

Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, Tuaran MRCS is among one of the most active having collected more than 500 pints of blood in 26 programs from last year till March of this year.

Keven Lo, Tuaran MRCS’s Honorary Secretary said in addition to blood donation drives the society has engaged volunteers to sew PPEs such as boot covers. To date, the society has distributed more than 3,000 face shields and boot covers to frontliners.

Tuaran MRCS’s partners in this initiative are the Tuaran Taoist Yu Huang Temple Management Society, Tuaran Buddhist Ling San Mission and the Sabah Youth Council which provided food basket and essentials to donors.

Also present were Tamparuli Assemblyman & MRCS Tuaran Chairman Datuk Jahid Jahim, his wife Datin Malianah Ugau, wife of Kiulu Assemblyman, Datin Lucy and Tuaran Hospital Director, Dr G. Mohan A/L Gopal Naidoo.-pr/BNN
