KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor wants more education, entrepreneurial and leadership programmes to empower women in Sabah.
He commended the Sabah Women’s Advisory Council (MPWS) for working with various agencies, particularly the Sabah Women’s Affairs Department (JHEWA), to advocate for women’s empowerment programmes.
“I want to see more women actively involved in the economic, education and leadership fields initiated by the MPWS,” he said when meeting the MPWS delegation led by its Chairperson, Datuk Dr Hajah Rosmawati Haji Lasuki at Menara Kinabalu today.
At the meeting, Rosmawati briefed the Chief Minister on the MPWS’ programmes, focusing on education, entrepreneurship and leadership.
Rosmawati said, among them was the Global Women @ Sabah (Glow@Sabah) leadership programme identifying capable women leaders and nurturing them to their full potential.
She also briefed the Chief Minister on the State Women’s Day celebration to be hosted by the MPWS on Sept 9 this year.
Also present were Deputy Chairperson Datuk Hajah Fauziah Binti DSP Haji Abu Bakar Titingan, Secretary/JHEWA Director, Hajah Haslina Ismail and MPWS committee members.-pr/BNN
