KOTA KINABALU: The Rotary Club of Kota Kinabalu Pearl successfully hosted the Pearl EducateHer Series: Digital Power, a dedicated one-day entrepreneurship workshop designed to empower women entrepreneurs with practical business skills, digital literacy, and financial knowledge to foster sustainable growth.

Held at Zara Boutique Hotel, Kota Kinabalu, the event brought together women micro and small business owners committed to enhancing their entrepreneurial capabilities in a competitive, increasingly digital marketplace.

The workshop offered hands-on training in key areas such as market strategy and business positioning, digital marketing and branding, costing and pricing, profit margin calculations, invoicing, financial management, and preparing company profiles and grant proposals.

A notable highlight was a sharing session by Encik Gary Ambrose, Assistant Director of the Sabah Entrepreneur Development Unit, who provided valuable insights into MARA programmes and available grants and financing options. His guidance offered participants essential support on accessing government resources to scale and sustain their businesses.

The programme also featured a practical training segment led by Liea Jamaliah, an experienced trainer and member of the Rotary Club of Kota Kinabalu Pearl. Her expertise in entrepreneurship development and community capacity building was highly praised by attendees.

The Rotary Club of Kota Kinabalu Pearl extends heartfelt thanks to current Vice President and Past President, Datuk Eliza Goh, owner of Zara Boutique Hotel, for her generous support and for providing the venue, creating a welcoming environment for all participants.

Speaking on behalf of the club, the President highlighted the importance of empowering women through economic independence.
“We believe that when women are economically empowered, families become stronger, communities more resilient, and society as a whole progresses. Supporting women entrepreneurs is about more than business skills; it’s about transforming ideas into opportunities and dreams into sustainable realities,” she stated.

The President also expressed gratitude to all Rotarians involved, especially those who wore pink in solidarity with women’s empowerment efforts.

Special thanks were given to Project Chair PP Rosie, Community Service Chair Datuk Aminah Ambrose, President-Elect Hanna Ghani Loh, the organising committee, speakers, partners, Zara Boutique Hotel management, and all participants for making the event a success.

The Pearl EducateHer Series forms part of the Rotary Club of Kota Kinabalu Pearl’s ongoing Pearl Empower initiative, which aims to uplift women through education, mentorship, entrepreneurship development, and community engagement.-pr/BNN
