KOTA KINABALU: Barisan Nasional (BN) Sabah, as part of the Sabah State Government, has a collective responsibility to defend the policies and decisions of the government as well as the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor.
Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Salleh Said Keruak said this when officiating the Kota Kinabalu UMNO Delegates Meeting at the Grand InHotel, Kota Kinabalu.
He said being part of the government comes with a shared political responsibility.
“When we are together in government, we must also stand together in defending the government and ensuring that it remains stable, effective and continues to enjoy the confidence of the people,” he said.
Salleh said BN Sabah must therefore play a constructive role in strengthening the State Government and supporting efforts to deliver development and address issues affecting the people.
He said political stability was particularly important for Sabah as it allowed the government to concentrate on economic growth, infrastructure, employment opportunities and the welfare of the people.
At the same time, Salleh said cooperation between BN and GRS should continue to be strengthened based on mutual respect and the larger interests of Sabah.
“Our priority must remain the stability of the government, the interests of Sabah and the well-being of the people,” Salleh said.-pr/BNN
