TUARAN: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor has reiterated his commitment to ensuring that all four State Assembly constituencies in Tuaran benefit from development on par with other areas in Sabah.
He said that, as a Chief Minister from Tuaran, it was his responsibility not only to develop the Sulaman constituency, which he represents, but also to ensure that Pantai Dalit, Tamparuli and Kiulu continue to progress.
Hajiji said he was always looking for ways to assist the people in the district and bring about appropriate development, in line with Tuaran’s position as the home district of the current Chief Minister.
“So I am always looking for ways to help ensure that Tuaran, particularly Sulaman and Pantai Dalit, as well as Tamparuli and Kiulu, continues to develop and progress.
“If possible, we want the Tuaran district to be more developed or at least on par with other districts throughout Sabah, especially since this is the Chief Minister’s constituency,” he said.
Hajiji said this during the presentation of appointment letters to the Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK) for the Sulaman and Pantai Dalit constituencies for the 2026-2030 term, as well as the presentation of cash assistance to traders and roadside hawkers for 2026, at Dewan Seri Sulaman here today.
At the event, 48 JKKK chairmen from the Sulaman constituency and 45 from Pantai Dalit received their appointment letters for the 2026-2030 term.
The event also saw RM3,000 in cash assistance presented to each of 200 petty traders and roadside hawkers through the 2026 Sentuhan Kasih Hajiji allocation.
The Chief Minister said the initiatives he had implemented were also a token of appreciation for the support of the people of Sulaman, who had continuously backed him throughout the 36 years he had represented the constituency, including the past five years as Chief Minister.
He said he had done his utmost to bring facilities and development to the people of Tuaran, particularly in Sulaman and Pantai Dalit, which was previously part of the Sulaman constituency, including village roads and economic activities for the benefit of the people.

On the RM3,000 cash assistance under his Sentuhan Kasih initiative, Hajiji said the contribution was aimed at easing the financial burden faced by small traders in Sulaman and Pantai Dalit in earning an income for their families.
“This is Sentuhan Kasih’s cash assistance from me. Every year, assistance is provided to these small traders because I care about their welfare. This year, I am giving RM3,000 each to 200 recipients in Sulaman and Pantai Dalit.
“This programme is also part of the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) development roadmap, which aims to improve the well-being of the people, and this is among the fundamental initiatives that we must implement,” he said.
Earlier, Hajiji reminded all JKKK chairmen to fulfil their entrusted responsibilities as the eyes and ears linking the people to the government, including fostering unity at the grassroots level.
He said the role of the JKKK was not merely to implement projects, but also to unite the people in their respective villages.
“The bigger responsibility is not just about implementing projects. There are many other activities that can raise awareness among the people and contribute to progress. For example, working together with villagers through gotong-royong activities. Such efforts can be undertaken because they can strengthen ties among us.
“It should not merely be about applying for projects and other assistance. Fundamental matters such as strengthening ties, fostering a sense of family within the village, organising gotong-royong and holding regular meetings not only with committee members but also with villagers are important in building a united community,” he said.-pr/BNN
