KOTA KINABALU: There is neither a witch-hunt nor abuse of power in the Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) government.
It’s Secretary-General, Loretto Padua Jr. said Sabah UMNO Chief, Datuk Hajiji Noor’s allegation that Warisan was on a witch-hunt against Musa Aman and acting like a bully by trying to dictate the country’s enforcement agencies on what to do were baseless.
On Hajiji’s accusation that they were on a witch-hunt against Musa and that their quest was based on vengeance and not justice, Padua said Sabahans knew that Musa went to London secretly and neither Musa nor any of his representatives had mentioned anything about his sickness at that time.
“It was reported in the media that he was seeking medical attention in London only after he missed the second sitting of the State Legislative Assembly,” he said in a statement today.
Before the second sitting, neither the Chief Minister, Datuk Shafie Apdal nor the State Government had ordered for his repatriation even though there were many accusations against Musa throughout his 14 years of administration which were mentioned in several books, he said.
He said Hajiji’s claim that Warisan was a bully and dictated the authorities on what to do was an illogical argument as they wouldn’t make media statements if they “are a powerless Government.”
“I want to tell Hajiji that Warisan is very dissatisfied with how Musa was accorded special treatement by the State police chief, Ramli Din and the Immigration Department upon his return to Malaysia. Nothing more and nothing less,” he stressed. -pr/BNN
