Rujilin Rose David is a beautiful woman, aged 45 years from Kg Nagapas, Papar. She is a proud mother  of four children, aged 25 to seven years old and a good wife to her supportive husband. She is smart and intelligent. She works  part-time as a marketing personnel with a magazine. In a nutshell, she has a great life  with  everything going for her.

She is however taking a step further to enrich her life. She will be representing Borneo to the 2nd edition of the Mrs. Queen of the World Pageant which will be held in Bangalore, India next month.

She won the right to go after winning Mrs. Queen of the World title during a beauty pageant organised by Seri Andaman Boutique last year.

Rujilin or better known as Rose has taken part in beauty pageants before, notably in Mrs. Sabah 2006 but took a long break after that. The recent title was acquired after she decided to participate again in 2018.

“I really hope to make it to India with four others from the State,” she shared.

However, she is looking for sponsorship from the State Government and private sectors to make her travel to India possible as costs have to be borne personally.

According to her, she needs at least RM15, 000 for the trip.

“I hope that sponsors will help me make my dream come true. In return for their sponsorship, I will promote their products during the event. When I return, I am willing to keep on promoting their products and even act as their product ambassador among others,” she shared.

According to her, such events can ensure that the participants’ respective country of origin is highlighted, through interviews and costumes as well as other related activities.

“I am sure we will interact with participants from other countries as well as their entourage. As such whatever products we promote will attract attention,” she stressed.

She said she will be wearing ‘Kebaya Nyonya’ costume as a representation of Malaysia as well as “Puteri Perak” costume as traditional costume.

On why she will not don Sabahan traditional dresses, she stressed that her four other friends will be wearing the Kadazan and Lundayeh costume.

“During the event, we will be participating in contests involving talent show, national costume, traditional costume, advocacy and questions and answers.  We will vie for the titles of Mrs. Queen of the Globe, Mrs. Queen of the World, Mrs. Queen of Angel and Mrs. Queen of International.”

Subsidiary titles include Mrs. Queen of Peace, Mrs. Photogenic and Mrs. Popular, she shared.

The pageant was founded by Alex Xavier and started in Myanmar last year.  Participants for the coming contest are from Malaysian Borneo, India, Myanmar, Philippines and Thailand.-ce/BNN
