100 pupils attend motivation talks

KOTA KINABALU: Some 100 Primary six pupils of Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Sacred Heart were given an insight on the journey of two successful former students.

The motivation Talk held on April 11th, 2019 organised by the Education Bureau of the Association of Ex-Students of La Salle and Sacred Heart is a series of educational programs targeted at schools in Sabah organized by the alumni’s education bureau.

The bureau  headed by Dr Rafiq Idris (La Sallian), a Senior Lecturer at Faculty of Business, Economics and Accountancy, University Malaysia Sabah, also saw the participation of Kelvin Lee, business man who is also ex-student of SRK Sacred Heart.

During the talk, Dr Rafiq and Kelvin shared their personal experience and their education journey as students, giving them tips on examination study, discipline and strategy.

The short program included talks,  group discussions and question and answer sessions. The objective of the program among others was to motivate pupils on the importance of giving their best in their studies, the need to have ambition in life and the importance to have strategy for examination.

“This is part of the alumni’s effort in giving back to the society. This have been instilled into us as La Sallians,” Dr Rafiq said adding that the  principal Mr Tony Ong, Assistant principal Bertha and teacher Daisy among others have been very supportive and their hospitality was awesome.-pr/BNN
