KOTA KINABALU: Datuk Karim Bujang is officially in the fray for the Kimanis Parliamentary Seat.
Contesting under Party Warisan ticket, this veteran politician who was a former assistant minister will be pitting his popularity against BN’s Datuk Mohamad Alimin.
The Kimanis Parliamentary by-election is being held as the Federal Court upheld the decision of the election court that there were discrepancies in the number of registered voters and non-compliance of election laws in the Kimanis parliamentary constituency results, thereby declaring it null and void.
Datuk Seri Anifah Aman won in the Kimanis seat in Sabah in the 14th General Election (GE14) with with 11,942 votes against Karim’s 11,786 votes. Karim had challenged the election results, resulting in the court decision, and the oncoming by-election.-BNN
