（吉隆坡20日讯）华总会长丹斯里吴添泉建议政府以扩大学额方式，让更多非土著学生有机会进入大学预科班（Matrikulasi）。
他说，在冠病疫情冲击下，大学预科班和政府大学已经成为国人，尤其是中低阶层家庭子弟深造的首选，政府也有必要进一步提高低收入（B40）和中等收入（M40） 群体的学额。
他说，政府在明年开放3万个大学预科班学额，在非土著的10%中，华裔仅占其中5.43%（1629个）的学额相信是不足够的。
他今天发表文告，针对教育部高级部长莫哈末拉兹在国会指出，今年的3万个大学预科班学额当中，在土著的90%固打制下，有2万7000个是保留给土著学生，另外10%（3000个）则是给非土著的书面答案作出评论。
根据莫哈末拉兹指出，政府于5月6日议决，在10%非土著的学额当中，按5.43（华裔），3.72（印裔）和0.85（其他）的比例录取；此外，高等教育部长拿督诺莱妮早前也表示，今年的大学预科班种族固打制将保持不变。
吴添泉认为，如果形势上需求，例如一旦出现土著学额过剩，而非土著的需求又偏高的情况下，政府是应该考虑放宽这项自2002年开始制定下的90%土著和10%非土著学生固打制度的。
“如果不能放宽固打制，另一个方式便是进一步扩大学额，让更多非土著学生有机会进入预科班。”
他说，去年前朝政府就是在继续维持招生固打制的情况下，把原有的2万5000个学额增加到4万个，让更多非土著生受惠，这是其中一项可行的方式。
“当时政府也落实了把60%学额保留予低收入的B40群体，这是可取的。”
吴添泉认为，随着这次受到疫情的打击，不论是大学预科班或是政府大学，都有必要为人民提供更多可负担的学额，应该中低群体家庭子女深造的需求。-pr/BNN
