KOTA KINABALU: Approximately 40 individuals attended an engaging talk on trust management held recently at Zara’s Boutique Hotel. The event featured two expert speakers who shared valuable insights into wealth and trust planning to help attendees secure their legacy.
The highlight was a presentation by Kristy Lau on Global Trustee Management, which clarified the often-misunderstood concept of trust planning. Many believe estate planning is merely about writing a will, but Kristy explained its critical role while you are still alive.
She addressed key questions such as who will handle your finances if you can’t, whether your family can access your assets smoothly, and if your wishes will be followed.
She emphasised that trust planning offers protection during your lifetime, ensures assets are managed according to your wishes, and helps avoid delays, disputes, and stress for loved ones.
The opening session, titled Legacy Beyond Wealth, was conducted by Dr. Tan Ting Tiam, who emphasized the importance of not only acquiring wealth but also mastering its effective management. Attendees were treated to complimentary breakfast and lunch as they gained insights on how to plan more strategically, safeguard their assets, and create a lasting, meaningful legacy.
Organized at no cost, the event aimed to raise awareness about the critical importance of trust management before it’s too late. As a token of appreciation, participants received a complimentary copy of the book About Trust, equipping them with valuable knowledge to secure their future.-BNN
