KOTA KINABALU: The office of nominated Assemblyman will continue their service to the best of their ability even though the annual minor projects grant of RM100,000.00 for Nominated Assemblyman has been discontinued for this year.
“It is with a heavy heart that I have to make it known to the hopeful applicants, who have been waiting since last year for minor projects to be done this year, that there are no minor projects grants this year,” Nominated Assemblyman, Datuk Yong teck Lee said in a statement.
“Any of the usual development applications (such as bus stops, playground repairs, concrete drains, and for roof zincs, water tanks, polypipes and so on) received by my office will be forwarded to the relevant authorities such as the City Hall (DBKK), Public Works Department (JKR), Rural Development Ministry and Chief Minister’s Department.”
“In case of any development and minor projects that are urgent, I advise the residents of Kota Kinabalu to seek grants from the government elected Assemblypersons who have been allocated RM3.0 million to RM4.0 million per Assemblyman per constituency of Inanam, Likas, Api Api, Luyang and Kapayan for the year 2025.”
The annual grant for 2023 and 2024 was RM3.0 million for each of the elected Assemblymen, hestressed.
“I understand that the MP of Parliament for Kota Kinabalu and Sepanggar (government MPs) have their own federal grants of a few million ringgit each MP.”
As for annual minor projects grants of RM100,000.00 allocated to Nominated Assemblyman for the years 2021, 2022, 2023 (RM50,000.00 expended) and 2024, these grants have been expended on Jalan Damai bus stop with solar lights, Repairs and Upgrading of Taman Likas playground, Repairs of Taman Likas Jaya playground, repairs of basketball court and playground at Dah Yeh Villa.
