Action packed Chinese movies in Imago

KOTA KINABALU: The 2017 China Film Festival curtain raiser on this Friday (Oct 20) will feature an action-packed movie ‘The Operation Mekong’, based on the real story of the 2011, Mekong massacre.

The show feature Hong Kong action pioneer Dante Lam is one of the five movies selected for this year festival will start at 7pm at Hall 1, MBO cinema level 2, Imago shopping mall, said Ma-Zhong

Friendship Association Sabah president Dr Oh Ei Sun yesterday.

The other shows on Saturday (Oct 21) are Book of Love, a romantic story and The Taking of Tiger Mountain, a story based on the conflict between the Chinese liberation army and a bandit gang will respectively start at 2pm and 4.30pm.

The final two shows on Sunday (Oct 22) are Song of Phoenix, a drama love story and Skiptrace, a martial arts action comedy starring Jackie Chan. The showing time is respectively at 2pm and 4.30pm.

Dr Oh said the five wonderful Chinese films to be presented to the Sabah audience this weekends is part of the cultural exchange between Sabah and China through visual arts.

“We will continue to strengthen our friendship and build the cultural bridge through this festival,” he said.

He said the activities is also aimed to promote the exchange of film industry and promote mutual understanding between the two peoples.

Dr Oh said,”Malaysia and China are very good neighbour, friends and partners and we will continue to develop this bilateral relations to further improve our important friendship and exchanges.”

The festival is co-organised between the Consulate General of China in Sabah and Ma-Zhong’s Sabah.
