KOTA KINABALU: The table may turn against the day-old Sabah Government led by BN Sabah Chairman Tan Sri Musa Aman.
In the latest development two UMNO leaders mainly Datuk Abdul Muis Picho State Assemblyman of Sebatik and Datuk Hamisa Samat State Assemblyman of Tanjung Batu had left UMNO/BN and joined Party Warisan Sabah, headed by Datuk Sri Mohd Shafie Afdal.
Both were seen going into Mohd Shafie’s residence here late this morning and left after about half an hour later. There were no clues on what went on in the house.
It is believed that they later accompanied the ranks of Warisan leaders to meet the Yang Dipertua Negeri, Tun Juhar Mahiruddin at Istana Negeri Sabah.
It is also believed that the three United Pasokmomogun Kadazandusun Murut Organisation (Upko) assemblymen mainly Ewon Benedict of Kadamaian, Datuk Abidin Madingkir of Paginatan and Datuk Bobbey Ah Fan Suan of Nabawan are with the entourage.
Yesterday, they had denied joining Warisan after Upko acting president Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau held a press conference to announce Upko’s decision to leave BN and form a coalition government with Warisan.
Sabah BN only won 29 state seats against Party Warisan Sabah who won 21 seats in the 14th General Election on May 9. Warisan with two other allied parties, DAP and PKR had won 29 state seats collectively and was at a tie with BN.
However, the total number of BN seats increased to 31 when STAR President , Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan announced that he and Robert Tawik @ Nordin chose to merge with BN to form a Government.
Today, it seemed Warisan has garnered more seats when the five State Assemblymen joined the party. -BNN
