Christmas is an annual Christian celebration that is observed by billions of people around the world. Held on December 25, this is a time of joy and happiness as well as giving; most families exchange gifts at this time. Some business establishments also give their staff gifts in conjunction with the celebration.
Klagan Regency 1Borneo has gone one step further to empathise on giving during this coming Christmas. They have collected gifts to go towards the children of San Damiano Boys Hostel, located in Kiulu, Tamparuli.
According to the hotel Marketing Communications Manager Stella Moluntang, they had set up a Christmas tree at their hotel lobby and hung the names of the 42 boys on it. They then encouraged guests and staff to pick a name and wrap a present for the intended person.
“The response have been incredibly encouraging and all the names on the tree have been picked up, and the gifts presented to us. We will send the gifts to the boys in January,” she said, adding that she appreciated all the generous individuals for the gifts.
According to her, it is one of the hotel’s Social Corporate Responsibilities (CSR) to give to the less fortunate during the festive season.
“This ensures that they will feel the joy and happiness of the occasion just like their other luckier counterparts in the State.”
They will be holding similar programmes in future, she said.
She also invites guests and visitors to visit their lobby at this time as they are selling various types of cakes, pudding, pies and assorted cookies in conjunction with the festive season.
