KOTA KINABALU: The Klagan Regency 1Borneo will be holding a gala dinner in conjunction with the seventh day of Chinese New Year on Feb 11.
The seventh day of the Chinese New Year is human day which literally means its the birthday of ordinary, or common men.
General Manager Yeow Hock Siew said the gala dinner will be held at their newly refurbished Grand Ballroom, which can seat up to 1000 round table.
He said the celebration will be held at a grand scale with sumptuous food on the menu for all celebrants within the ballroom which is built to accommodate international and local conventions, trade shows and public exhibitions as well as entertainment events.
“During the event, celebrants can hope to be entertained by a band serenading them with Chinese songs and they will also meet the ‘God of Prosperity’,” he said adding that there will also be a Chinese calligrapher present at that time.
He said the food served during the gala dinner includes delectable like sea cucumber and pacific clams wit fatt choi broccoli, stir fried sweet and spicy flowers prawns as well as duet chicken among others.
Yeow, who hails from Penang will be celebrating Chinese New Year in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah for the first time and he said he is looking forward to experience the celebration’s atmosphere here.
On another note, he conveyed his Chinese New Year greetings to all celebrants, his staff and guests as well as family and friends.
“Happy Chinese New Year and may everyone be healthy and prosperous in the year to come. Lets all stay positive and always have hope in what lies ahead,” he stressed.
