TUARAN: Sulaman State Assemblyman, Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor, flagged off the participants of Nongkolud Cycling Team (NCT) Fun Ride & Charity in conjunction with Malaysia Day celebration at the Tuaran District Council podium today.
Some 400 people participated in the programme including from Lawas (Sarawak), Labuan and Brunei Darussalam, involving a distance of about 40 kilometres.
The programme was jointly organised by NCT and Tuaran Youth and Sport Ministry (KBS) Office.
Hajiji, who is Sabah Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (BERSATU) Chief, said Malaysia Day is historical for the people of Sabah because it was on September 16 that the beloved Malaysia was formed.
“This programme is one of the ways the people in Tuaran and other districts who participated in the cycling activity translated their love of this nation. There is no other country for us but Malaysia,” he stressed.
He said the programme makes the Tuaran district-level Malaysia Day celebration even more merrier.
“This is a very good programme that we should support, like the rest other programmes and activities organised in the district,” stressed Hajiji.
Also present were District Police Chief, DSP Mohd Hamizi Halim, who also participated in the activity, Tuaran Bersatu Deputy Division Chief, Abdul Kassim Haji Razali, NCT Chairman, Encik Ramlee Salleh and Tuaran KBS Officer, Encik Bexter Jilan.-pr/BNN
