KOTA KINABALU: With the threat of Covid-19 pandemic far from over in Sabah and frontline health workers having to bear the brunt of the fight against the virus for the people, these frontliners, who are working hard to combat this epidemic are hailed by the people who give support in various ways.
Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) is no exception, donating some much-needed PPEs to the Penampang Health Department for use by its medical staff.
Tang Ting Yieng, from SAPP Luyang CLC donation committee team, had contacted Dina@ Fidelia Anna Peter Marius, a senior health inspector, Communicable Disease Unit, Penampang Crisis Preparedness & Response Centre (CPRC) after learning that the department was in need of more PPEs for their medical frontliners. She also said Personal Protection Equipments (PPE) are a must for its medical staff. She added that the suits provide better protection in handling Persons Under Investigation (PUI) and corpses.
Tang also observed that many non-governmental organizations (NGO) took the initiative to contact medical units through social media platforms to provide assistance and raise materials as required by frontline personnel. He expressed his praise and endless gratitude for these acts of righteousness, and advocated a nationwide fight against the epidemic.
A donation of 100 sets PPE was handed over by Yong Yit Jee, on behalf of Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) to Dina who received on behalf of the Penampang Health department on 12 December 2020 morning.
Yong, who is a member of SAPP Supreme Council, also a lawyer, said the party will do its best to provide assistance wherever possible to help frontliners in its fight against the pandemic.-pr/BNN
