KOTA KINABALU : As we welcome the New Year, it is a timely moment for reflection and renewal. The beginning of a new year is often viewed as an opportunity to look back on our achievements and challenges, while setting fresh resolutions and plans for a better and more meaningful year ahead.

I urge the State Government to continue striving for sustained and inclusive socio-economic development. Efforts must remain focused on strengthening infrastructure, resolving longstanding issues facing the state, and further enhancing the welfare and quality of life of the people of Sabah.

At the same time, Sabah must continue to attract quality investments and create a conducive environment for growth. The development of key sectors such as manufacturing, tourism, and agriculture should be further intensified to generate employment opportunities, strengthen our economy, and ensure long-term prosperity for the state.

Above all, unity remains our greatest strength. Sabah’s rich religious and ethnic diversity is a blessing that must be cherished and protected. In this spirit, I call upon those who are more fortunate to extend a helping hand to those in need, especially the vulnerable and less privileged within our communities.

I also wish to express my deepest appreciation and gratitude to members of our security forces who, despite being far away from their families, continue to make great sacrifices in safeguarding our borders and upholding the security and sovereignty of our state and nation. Their dedication and service will always be remembered and honoured.

May the New Year bring continued progress, prosperity, peace, and harmony to Malaysia as a whole, and to Sabah in particular. With collective effort, wisdom, and unity of purpose, I am confident that we can move forward together towards a brighter future.

Happy New Year and best wishes to all.-pr/BNN
