KUALA LUMPUR: ENERtec Asia 2026, ASEAN’s premier energy technology exhibition organised by Informa Markets and co-hosted by The Electrical and Electronics Association of Malaysia (TEEAM), has announced a strategic partnership with The Energy Transition Conference 2026 (ETCon26), powered by Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB). This collaboration creates an integrated platform to accelerate Malaysia’s energy transition, linking government policy, utility strategies, technological innovation, investment, and real-world deployment.
Since launching the National Energy Transition Roadmap in 2023, Malaysia has entered a critical phase of implementation. The country is expanding large-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), rolling out EV charging infrastructure nationwide, developing smart grids, interconnecting with the ASEAN Power Grid, and experiencing rapid growth in AI-driven data centres. Moving from planning to active delivery, Malaysia’s energy transition now requires a comprehensive platform to turn ambitions into tangible projects and investment opportunities.
Taking place from 3–5 June 2026 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), the co-located events will convene over 12,000 policymakers, utility companies, technology providers, industry leaders, investors, and innovators from more than 60 countries. The programme offers a seamless progression from regulatory frameworks and utility roadmaps to solutions showcase, financing options, and project realisation.
ENERtec Asia 2026 will serve as the marketplace for next-generation energy solutions, highlighting innovations in grid modernisation, renewable energy integration with BESS, industrial energy efficiency, decarbonisation, and the convergence of energy and artificial intelligence (AI). With over 1,000 exhibitors and more than 40 conferences and technical seminars, the event provides direct access for solution providers and developers to buyers, utilities, and government stakeholders committed to Malaysia’s net-zero ambitions.
Complementing the exhibition, ETCon26 will host a high-level strategic conference themed “Energy & AI: The Synergy for Energy Transition”, focusing on three key pillars. The first is developing reliable, resilient power infrastructure to support Malaysia’s digital economy and data centres, ensuring that the energy system can meet the demands of AI and digitalisation. The second involves leveraging artificial intelligence to optimise grid operations, asset management, and decarbonisation efforts. The third pillar emphasises creating an inclusive and equitable energy transition, ensuring affordable access to sustainable energy for all Malaysians.
Together, the alliance aims to bridge policy and action, aligning government priorities, utility planning, private-sector innovation, and investor engagement to advance Malaysia’s energy transition objectives.
“ENERtec Asia 2026 marks a pivotal moment for Southeast Asia’s energy future. In collaboration with TEEAM and TNB, we are building an ecosystem where innovation becomes reality, enabling the market to move from ambition to action in support of ASEAN’s net-zero targets,” said Mr Gerard Leeuwenburgh, Country General Manager of Informa Markets.
“As co-host of ENERtec Asia 2026, TEEAM sees this event as a strategic extension of our mission to strengthen Malaysia’s electrical and electronics ecosystem. By bringing together stakeholders across power generation, grid infrastructure, digital systems, and energy management, we aim to foster the partnerships and technical expertise vital for a secure, resilient, and sustainable energy future,” stated Mr Albert Tan Tin Yau, President of TEEAM.
The partnership offers attendees exclusive access to global thought leadership, AI-powered business matching, cutting-edge technologies, and engagement with government agencies, GLCs, and industry leaders, creating a unique platform to accelerate innovation, collaboration, and deployment of energy projects across Southeast Asia.
As Malaysia transitions from ambition to action, ENERtec Asia 2026 and ETCon26 stand at the forefront of policy, innovation, and commercialisation. Industry professionals, technology innovators, policymakers, and investors are invited to join this transformative event to shape a smarter, cleaner, and more resilient energy landscape.-pr/BNN
