KOTA KINABALU: The Federation of Chinese Associations Sabah (FCAS) has cordially invited the Sabah China Chamber of Commerce (SCCC) to join hands to attract investors to invest in Sabah.
Its President, Tan Sri T.C Goh asserted that it is important for individuals who are involved in Chinese organisations or community to set aside their differences, be accommodative of each other, so that they could work together as a united force to achieve their common goals.
Goh who is also a member of the Sabah Economic Advisory Council (SEAC) also praised the SCCC for playing a positive and constructive role under the leadership of Datuk Frankie Liew, since its inception.
Goh who is also President of the Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia (Huazong) and also Honorary Advisor of SCCC expressed this during the courtesy call by Liew and his delegation, on Wednesday, during which Liew also invited Goh to attend its Chinese New Year dinner which will be held on 12 February
During their warm exchange, Goh also emphasised on the importance of being resilient in exploring and promoting investment potentials of Sabah, towards boosting economic development of the state.
He was also convinced that with a resilient attitude, the SCCC and its leadership would continue to play a significant role in helping Sabah to attract investors to help boost the state economy.
He also hoped the SCCC could actively participate in activities and programmes organized by FCAS, and to forge a closer cooperation with each other, especially in regards to proposals to attract trade investments and developments, after this.
“SCCC members are most welcomed to use the broadcasting facility at the event hall of our Karamunsing office, to conduct online business investment conferences with business counterparts from China or various states in Malaysia,” he said.
Meanwhile, both FCAS and SCCC also reached two key consensuses towards helping Sabah Chinese community in securing more benefits and business opportunities.
Firstly, SCCC hoped to through FCAS to better understand the state government’s direction and cooperation with its China counterpart in promoting bilateral trade between Sabah and China, so that it could better position itself to play an effective role.
Secondly, SCCC strongly recommended that in the event of a natural disaster, FCAS to take the lead to liaise with and to secure the necessary funding and aids from the state government, and to gather all Chinese civil society organizations in Sabah, to facilitate rescue efforts and distributions of aids to victims in the worst-hit areas.-pr/BNN
