KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Sihat 2.0 has served as a vital platform for bringing a wide range of health and wellbeing services directly to the public through health screenings, counselling services, exhibitions, and community-based programmes all under one roof.
Sabah Minister of Women, Health and People’s Wellbeing, Datuk Julita Majungki, emphasised that such initiatives are essential in ensuring communities have easier access to information, services, and support related to health and family wellbeing.
“Sabah Sihat 2.0 is more than just a health programme. It is a platform that unites government agencies and strategic partners to deliver vital services directly to the people.
“Through this approach, members of the public can access useful information, undergo health screenings, and receive support services that contribute to their overall wellbeing,” she said, officiating Sabah Sihat 2.0 near the Likas Sports Complex here on Saturday.
The event attracted over 1,000 participants and featured various services, including Wellness on Wheels (WOW) organised by the Sabah State Health Department and the Mobile Family Centre (PKB) operated by the National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN).
A variety of exhibitions and activities were also held, involving government agencies and community organisations such as the Sabah Autism Centre, Cheshire Home, and the Sabah Society for the Deaf.
Julita highlighted that delivering services directly to communities plays a crucial role in raising public awareness and literacy on health and wellbeing issues.
“Health and wellbeing should be viewed holistically, encompassing physical, mental, and social dimensions. Efforts to bring services closer to communities must be continuously strengthened so that more people can benefit from them.
“The State Government remains committed to expanding access to quality health and wellbeing services in line with the Sabah Maju Jaya agenda to build a healthy, productive, and prosperous society,” she said.
Also present were Sabah Women, Health and People’s Wellbeing (KWKKR) Assistant Minister, Datuk Rina Jainal, and KWKKR Permanent Secretary, Datuk Maria Chong.-pr/BNN
