KOTA KINABALU: In conjunction with Sabah’s Head of State, Tun Datuk Seri Panglima (Dr.) Haji Juhar Bin Datuk Haji Mahiruddin’s 64th birthday celebration, Sutera Harbour Resort presented a 100 kg handcrafted Chocolate and Carrot Cake.
The cake showcased the Head of State’s achievements by showing a replica of all seven medals that the Head of State has accomplished throughout his term. The ‘body’ of the cake represents the four cultural costumes from the district of Dusun Tindal Kota Belud, Dusun Lotud Tuaran, and Kadazan Penampang.
The hotel’s pastry team led by Chef Kee Roesdyen took 10 days to complete the masterpiece, which was then presented by the Resort’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Gerard Tan and his team, Hotel Manager of The Magellan Sutera Resort, Adrian De Rozario, Hotel Manager of The Pacific Sutera Hotel, Gerry D’Cruz and Group Director of Sales & Marketing, Elaine Kwan.
Sutera Harbour Resort’s pastry team showcased their tremendous talent in building a cake of this scale with such precision and details using home-made ingredients. Chef Kee Roesdyen has been a passionate baker for the past 13 years and is well known for making lavish and intricate cakes. –pr/BNN
