KOTA KINABALU: Various corporate bodies handed over contributions to the Kampung Bahagia, Sandakan fire victims at the Welfare Services Department’s Sembulan Depot here on Thursday.
Sandakan Municipal Council President Datuk Walter Kenson received the contributions from Petronas, Sabah Electricity, BTC Group, Hasani Group of Companies and SAMIMA Books and Stationary.
The donations included food baskets and care packages, which would be delivered to the victims by road to Sandakan.
“On behalf of the State Disaster Management Committee, I would like to express thanks to all the donors.
“This reflects the generousity of our people who are very caring. In just five days after the incident, we have received assistance from 150 NGOs and from the private sector,” Walter said.-pr/BNN
