KUALA LUMPUR: ARCHIDEX 2026 will make its highly anticipated return from 29 July to 1 August at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC). The event continues to reinforce its position as Asia’s foremost architectural business platform and a trusted space for regional industry convergence.

Under the theme “The Bold Future,” ARCHIDEX 2026 marks a significant milestone in its evolution from a traditional trade exhibition into an integrated confex ecosystem—where exhibitions, conferences, policy dialogues, and industry activation come together to shape the future of the built environment across Asia.

Jointly organised by Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (PAM) and C.I.S, ARCHIDEX has grown into a regional hub of confidence, connecting architects, interior designers, developers, engineers, manufacturers, and policymakers within a coordinated ecosystem that drives industry innovation and economic growth.

At the ARCHIDEX Preview Event, C.I.S President Dato’ Vincent Lim remarked: “ARCHIDEX started as a trade exhibition centred on business, networking, and discovery. Today, it operates as a confex platform, integrating exhibition, conference, and forums—a yearly gathering that launches brands, supports local companies entering international markets, provides a gateway for global players into the region, and fosters collaboration where design, technology, and business meet.”

The decision to consolidate ARCHIDEX 2026 at MITEC for the first time reflects strategic growth. The exhibition will expand by 20%, covering 39,000 square metres, featuring nearly 900 exhibitors from 20 countries and regions, and attracting approximately 40,000 trade visitors from over 100 nations. The event is projected to generate up to RM1.4 billion in business transactions, highlighting its role as a key commercial and investment platform in the region.

Launching the preview, Minister of Housing and Local Government,  Nga Kor Ming, described ARCHIDEX and the ASEAN Real Estate Conference (AREC) 2026 as “global nexuses where policymakers and industry leaders exchange transformative ideas to tackle global challenges; and, crucially, turn those ideas into actionable local initiatives.”

A core driver of ARCHIDEX 2026’s expanded influence is AREC, a strategic collaboration with the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT). AREC bridges policy and industry, bringing together government officials, developers, architects, and solution providers to align national urban development priorities with regional investment and implementation strategies.

Through AREC, ARCHIDEX reinforces its role beyond mere exhibition—serving as a structured policy-market interface where national agendas are translated into tangible industry outcomes and investment opportunities.

Beyond the exhibition, ARCHIDEX solidifies its position as a regional knowledge hub, driven by an integrated conference ecosystem that links practice, policy, and future industry directions.

At its core is DATUM – the region’s largest architectural conference organised by PAM. DATUM has become a pivotal platform for architectural debate in Asia, bringing together leading practitioners and thinkers to explore how architecture responds to evolving urban, environmental, and societal needs.

PAM President, Ar. IDr Dexter Koh Yew Peng, emphasised: “ARCHIDEX is more than a marketplace; it is a meeting point for discussion, questioning, and reimagining architecture. Held concurrently with ARCHIDEX, the DATUM Conference is Asia’s premier gathering of architectural minds. Over the years, DATUM has become a celebration of architecture’s potential to drive positive change and inspire the next generation to design purposefully and responsibly.”

Additional components of the ecosystem include the Asia Space Design Summit, focusing on spatial intelligence across key sectors, and the Asia Workplace Design Conference, which examines how work, organisation, and space are being redefined across Asia.

ARCHIDEX 2026 will feature three thematic zones:

World of Works (WoW):Redefining workplace design for adaptable, human-centred environments

A Hospitality Anthology (aha):A new feature exploring transformations in hospitality design, experience, and functionality

FENESTEX: Focusing on windows, doors, glass, and façade technology vital to building performance

Digital @ ARCHIDEX:Showcasing smarteX (Smart Building and Facility Management Exhibition), highlighting BIM, AI, smart systems, and data-driven construction

Beyond the exhibition, ARCHIDEX 2026 will deliver a comprehensive programme aimed at fostering business growth, thought leadership, and talent development, including:

– Biz Talks and Focus Forums

– Buyer Programmes and curated business matching

– ARCHIDEX Star Awards recognising product excellence and innovation

– ARCHITALENT, supporting emerging design talent

These initiatives ensure ARCHIDEX functions as a holistic ecosystem where exhibition visibility, knowledge exchange, and industry collaboration drive tangible outcomes.

To improve participation, ARCHIDEX 2026 will introduce dedicated shuttle services from KL Sentral and Sunway Putra Mall, facilitating easier access across the event.

Additionally, ARCHIDEX will activate Kuala Lumpur Architecture Week (KLAW), integrating architecture, heritage, and public installations into the cityscape. KLAW strengthens the link between the built environment and public life, supporting Malaysia’s broader Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) initiative.-pr/BNN
