KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Department of Industrial Development and Research (DIDR), an agency under the Sabah Ministry of Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport (MINDET), will holf the three‑day Sabah SME Fest 2026 from 19 June at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) here.
The opening ceremony on 19 June will be officiated by Deputy Chief Minister III and Minister of Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport, Datuk Ewon Benedick.
DIDR Sabah director Siti Nur’ Ain Abdullah said the festival, organised in collaboration with MINDET, SME Corp Malaysia, MATRADE, Sedcovest Holdings Berhad and TikTok Shop Malaysia, will bring together micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from across Sabah.
“A wide range of activities has been lined up throughout the festival, including sales of local SME products, craft demonstrations, a blood donation drive, a children’s colouring contest, a chess tournament, a singing contest, Idola SME Fest 2026, and a lucky draw.
“In addition to exhibitions and sales by local entrepreneurs, visitors will also have the opportunity to take part in business matching sessions,” she said in a media statement today.
The festival will also feature performances by local artists and a special appearance by Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan 2026, Gelvia Vanessa Jenny.
Nur’ Ain added that the Idola SME Fest 2026 singing competition offers cash prizes of up to RM1,500 for the winner. Rapid chess, children’s colouring, Beyblade and Mobile Legends competitions will also be held with attractive prizes.
“Sabah SME Fest 2026 is an important platform to promote Sabah MSME products and services, expand business networks and encourage public participation in entrepreneurship and the digital economy.”
”I therefore encourage members of the public to attend to enliven the festival and support Sabah’s local products,” she said.-pr/BNN
