KOTA KINABALU: The three-day Market Mingle at Karamunsing, organised by Sino Bumisa Technology, successfully brought together local entrepreneurs, families, children, and community partners from 29 to 31 August 2026 at the Exhibition Hall, Kompleks Karamunsing.

Held in honour of the Merdeka celebrations, the event carried the theme “Merdeka”, creating a vibrant platform for visitors to shop, discover local products, and enjoy meaningful family activities while supporting small and local businesses.

The event received support from various participating vendors and organisations, including Adabi, Compassion Caregiver, the Ministry of Health Malaysia, and numerous small and medium-sized enterprises. Their involvement helped create a diverse marketplace and provided local entrepreneurs with the opportunity to showcase their products and services directly to the community.

The second day featured a special speech showcase by students from Deemcee Inanam Kapital, involving children aged twelve and under. With the theme “Merdeka”, the young participants demonstrated their confidence, communication skills, and creativity in front of an audience.

Adding to the excitement, Kidz Club organised a Merdeka Puzzle Challenge specially for children aged twelve and under. This activity offered an engaging and educational experience, encouraging children to develop problem-solving and teamwork skills.

Merdeka Fashion Contest Draws Twenty-Three Young Participants

The highlight of the final day was the Merdeka Fashion Contest, which attracted twenty-three children aged between four and twelve. Dressed in colourful, creative Merdeka-themed outfits, the young contestants brought energy and enthusiasm as they showcased their attire and celebrated Malaysia’s independence.

The enthusiastic participation of families and children throughout the event reflected the community’s eagerness for activities that combine shopping, entertainment, and family bonding.

Overall, Market Mingle at Karamunsing was a successful and inspiring event, providing a valuable platform for local entrepreneurs and small businesses to connect with potential customers, while offering families the chance to spend quality time together.

Sino Bumisa Technology expressed its intention to continue organising similar community-focused events in the future, as part of its commitment to supporting local entrepreneurs, fostering small business opportunities, and encouraging meaningful family experiences.
