KOTA KINABALU: The State Government has approved the appointment of Datuk Zainudin Aman as the new Sabah State Secretary, effective 29 June 2026.
Zainudin, who is also the Director-General of the Sabah State Public Service, will replace Datuk Seri Panglima Sr Haji Safar Untong, whose term ends on 28 June 2026.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor said that with this appointment, it is hoped that the Sabah State Public Service will continue to progress and remain competitive in driving the state’s administrative transformation toward sustained progress and excellence.
This will also ensure that government policies are implemented effectively for the prosperity of the people and the state.
He said the State Government extends its sincere appreciation and thanks to Datuk Seri Panglima Sr Haji Safar for his excellent service, dedication, professionalism, and integrity since taking on the role in 2019.
Datuk Seri Panglima Sr Haji Safar has also been appointed as Chairman of Tanjung Aru Eco Development Sdn Bhd (TAED), a government-linked company (GLC) under the Chief Minister’s Department, effective 1 June 2026.-pr/BNN
