KOTA KINABALU: The Palace Hotel Kota Kinabalu is offering a breaking of Fast Buffet at its Tangerine Restaurant during the month of Ramadan.
The Ramadan Buffet offers a variety of sumptuous food to those who wish to enjoy their food in a cosy and comfortable ambiance after a whole day of fasting.
The extensive variety of food offered, including desserts of cakes and sweets will meet the cravings of those want a delectable and filling evening meal.
Its General Manager Ms Phang Joo See, said the Ramadan buffet offered by The Palace Hotel is an annual affair, where the menu is especially planned for diners during the month long fast.
According to her, the breaking of fast menu served on the buffet table is changed every day to ensure variety for regular guests except for the all-time favourite Beef Rendang, Satay and Ayam Masak Merah.
”The restaurant can seat up to 194 people at any one time,” she said adding that those who wish to berbuka puasa with their friends and family are welcomed to walk in.
However, groups of 30 pax and above are encouraged to inform the Palace Hotel one day in advance so that the seats can be reserved for the group, she stated.
The dinner buffet is priced at RM69nett for adult and RM35nett per child aged five to ten years old.
Phang also said that Hotel Palace is a Green Hotel and a keen advocate of zero wastage where food is concerned.
“In this respect, even as we invite, welcome and encourage our guests to dine at our restaurant during the fasting month, we also urge them to minimise wastage by taking from the buffet table only as much as what they can eat,” she stressed.
She said this in light of the fact that during the fasting month of Ramadan last year it was reported that a research by the Solid Waste And Public Cleansing Corporation (SWCorp) revealed Malaysians waste 15,000 tonnes of food daily, with 3,000 tonnes still fit to consume being thrown away, and sadly, the amount is enough to feed two million hungry people.
