TUARAN: Shangri-La Rasa Ria is proud to announce its official collaboration with the Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan and Randawi Tavantang (District Level Tuaran 2026) committees.
This strategic partnership aims to deepen cultural appreciation and amplify the destination appeal of Tuaran as a premier hub for heritage and sustainable luxury tourism.
As the Harvest Festival (Pesta Kaamatan) approaches, the resort will serve as a key partner in hosting and supporting these prestigious cultural pageants.
The Unduk Ngadau, which honors the legend of Huminodun, and the Randawi Tavantang—a celebration of Sabahan male grace, strength, and cultural intellect—represent the pinnacle of Tuaran’s community spirit.
The collaboration with the Tuaran district Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan and Randawi Tavantang started off with a preliminary registration last weekend where a total of 25 Unduk Ngadau and 9 Randawi Tavantang hopefuls from Tuaran, Tamparuli and Kiulu turned up for the official registration.
Rasa Ria will be the official partner for the Tuaran district Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan and Randawi Tavantang pageant.
They will be the venue provider for the registration and bootcamp activities of the participants.
“We are truly grateful for the support given by Rasa Ria,” said Hannevy W. Harry, the District Unduk Ngadau & Randawi Tavantang coordinator, who is also the Tamparuli assistant district officer.
“We hope that this will mark the beginning of a successful collaboration between the local Tuaran UNK/RTK committee and this world-renowned hospitality brand,” she concluded.
“At Rasa Ria, we are committed to supporting the Tuaran community in their socio-cultural endeavours,” said Fiona Hagan, General Manager of Shangri-La Rasa Ria.
“Our partnership with the Unduk Ngadau and Randawi Tavantang Tuaran 2026 is a celebration of our home. We are honoured to support the young ambassadors who carry the torch of our heritage, ensuring that the people and culture of Tuaran continues to thrive in the modern world.”
With this year’s theme ‘Kaamatan: Harvesting Unity, Celebrating Harmony’, this collaboration marks a significant milestone as Sabah prepares for Visit Malaysia 2026, setting a benchmark for how the private sector and cultural organisations can work together to preserve the intangible heritage of the local community.
