KOTA KINABALU: Senior practising lawyer Hamid Ismail congratulates Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal on his appointment as the new Chief Minister of Sabah.
“I pray that he will discharge his duties responsibly and easily,” he said.
“As an opposition politican from a party that practices ‘Peaceful and Mature’ politics, I will support State Government’s policies and activities that are good for the state and citizens; and I will give constructive critics and advice if those matters are otherwise.”
Hamid who is also the Head of Legal Unit for PAS Sabah stressed the most important matter that the new Chief Minister should do is to protect is Islam in Sabah.
“I have some suggestions on how to upgrade and improve Islam in Sabah especially relating to syariah court, syariah lawyers, Islamic law and Islamic administration,” he said adding that he however would allow the State Government to arrange their matters first.
“My suggestions can wait. It is my hope that Sabah will progress and advance under the new state government,” he said.-By Evachel J. John/BNN
